The brand
Bit Explains is an original children's storytelling brand: animated retellings of Hans Christian Andersen's classic fairytales, narrated by Bit — a small, kind robot who loves books more than batteries. Every episode is written, animated, voiced and scored in-house as an original production. Nothing is re-uploaded, licensed-in or scraped; the entire catalogue is our own work, built tale by tale from Andersen's originals.
The studio
Bit Explains is produced by mickMind, an independent media & technology studio based in Randers, Denmark, founded and led by Mick Baruffato. The studio runs its own production pipeline — writing, animation, multilingual narration and distribution — and publishes the series to audiences on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
Andersen was Danish; so are we. Bringing his tales to children worldwide, in their own languages, is the whole point of the project.
Content standards
- Family-safe, always. Every episode is made for young children and marked accordingly on each platform.
- Faithful to the source. Stories are adapted gently for age-appropriateness, never distorted.
- Calm over clickbait. No jump-cuts, no loud noises, no manufactured drama.
